Context
A crypto blockchain start-up
Throughout the lifespan of this startup client, challenges arose across multiple areas that required strategic design solutions. From establishing a cohesive internal company language, to creating visually compelling designs and pitch decks that helped secure funding, to maintaining a unified design system for various product teams, I took on multiple roles and responsibilities to address these needs.
Provide necessary deliverables to help establish the client as a forerunner in the blockchain crypto space.
Design Process
Impact
I began this project as a junior designer working under the guidance of a senior designer. Initially, I contributed to defining the client’s visual language by creating graphics and vector assets for their internal directory. As the project evolved, my responsibilities expanded to designing and prototyping various user flows and styling presentation decks to help the business communicate more effectively with stakeholders and potential investors.
This work continued throughout the project’s lifespan, but my greatest impact came from maintaining and updating the design system. Collaborating directly with the designers and developers who used it allowed me to quickly understand their needs and adapt as necessary. Because everyone on the team had packed schedules, I learned to stay proactive and organized to ensure I contributed effectively and kept the work moving forward.
Unlike the stock market, crypto never sleeps. This fast-paced project strengthened my ability to deliver high-quality visual designs and polished presentations under tight deadlines. By refining pitch decks and high-fidelity deliverables, I helped the client communicate their vision more effectively to investors and stakeholders. Taking ownership of the design system taught me valuable, hands-on lessons in component building, design system maintenance, and streamline collaboration across product teams. This experience deepened my understanding of scalable design practices and equipped me with practical skills in building and maintaining systems that support design efficiency and cohesion.
Results
By maintaining and updating the design system, I helped streamline workflows for the design teams. As new needs arose, I created reusable components that allowed designers to quickly pull from the shared library instead of designing elements from scratch. This significantly improved efficiency and ensured visual consistency across all products.The unified design system became the single source of truth for two design teams working across five different products. This cohesive visual language played a key role in strengthening Forte’s brand presence and supporting their expansion into new crypto markets.
